Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
TGParental Controls is committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We understand the importance of protecting children's privacy and take our responsibilities seriously.
What is COPPA?
COPPA is a U.S. federal law designed to protect the privacy of children under 13 years old. It requires operators of websites and online services to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children.
How We Comply
- Parental Consent: We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any information from or about children
- Direct Notice: Parents receive clear notice about what information is collected and how it is used
- Parental Control: Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's information at any time
- Data Minimization: We only collect information necessary to provide our parental monitoring services
- Security: All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We take security seriously and conduct regular audits
Information Collected About Children
Without COPPA Consent: Only device time limits can be enforced without collecting personal information.
With Parental Consent: All other monitoring features require verifiable parental consent before activation. When consent is obtained, we may collect:
- Child's name and age (for profile setup)
- Device usage and activity data
- Application usage patterns
- Web browsing history
- Location data
- Screen content and screenshots
All features are disabled by default and must be individually enabled by the parent after providing verifiable consent.
Parental Rights
Parents have the right to:
- Review all information collected about their child
- Request deletion of their child's information
- Refuse further collection of their child's information
- Modify monitoring settings at any time
